Marathon Hero Arredondo Given New Truck by Herb Chambers

Carlos Arredondo was given a new truck by Herb Chambers to thank him for his bravery during the Boston Marathon bombings.

Parkway resident Carlos Arredondo, the cowboy hat hero from the Boston Marathon bombings, was given a free truck from a local deal to thank him for his bravery.

On Tuesday, Herb Chambers gave Arredondo a new Toyota Tacoma. Chambers himself gave Arredondo a new truck as a way to express his gratitude for the bravery Carlos showed during the April 15 tragedies.

“Carlos Arredondo, known to many as the Cowboy Hat Hero from the Boston Marathon bombings, is truly the embodiment of a hero,” said Chambers. “When we heard about a grassroots fundraising campaign to help buy Carlos a new truck, we wanted to help. We hope Carlos and his family enjoy this new truck and know how grateful we are for his act of heroism.”

No word on what Arredondo intends to do with his current truck, which he would decorate with anti-war slogans, often displaying it at central locations like Roslindale Village or buy the war monument in Jamaica Plain.
