Roslindale Man Murdered on Archdale Road in Saturday Night Shooting

A 25-year-old Roslindale husband and father, who friends and family identified as Nelson B. Castillo, was shot and murdered shortly before midnight at 80 Archdale Rd. 

This was the eighth shooting in Boston on Saturday but, so far, the only fatal one, according to a post on the web site Universal Hub.

Boston Police responded to a 911 call at 12:04 a.m. and found Castillo. EMTs determined that the Roslindale resident was "non viable" and the Police's Homicide Unit was called. 

Castillo reported leaves a wife and young daughter. 

The area the murder took place is no stranger to violence; last December, a man was fatally shot in the head at 20 Archdale Rd., followed the next month by a woman being shot to death a couple blocks away on Fawndale Road. In April, cars were shot up at the same address, 80 Archdale, where Castillo was killed.
