Breastfeeding Essentials Part II: Pumping, milk storage, & bottle feeding

Breastfeeding Your Growing Baby- Pumping, Milk Storage, and Bottle Feeding

Pumping doesn’t have to be a mystery!  New mothers often have questions about pumping, and we love providing moms with tips to help make pumping easier, more efficient, and more productive.  Whether you are returning to work outside the home or just want to give your baby an occasional bottle of expressed milk, this class will give you ideas, suggestions, and up-to-date information on everything you need to know about pumping and introducing bottles.  Led by a Certified Lactation Counselor, this class will help you feel relaxed, confident, and informed about all aspects of pumping and bottle-feeding.

This class will address:

  • Your breastpump: How it works, pumping accessories, and how to clean it
  • The process of pumping: When and how often
  • Your milk supply: Tips for efficient pumping and maximum milk production
  • Proper milk storage and guidelines
  • Pumping at work: Where and when to pump, managing your time, and advocating for your needs as a pumping/nursing mom
  • Bottle feeding: Introducing bottles and paced bottle feeding
  • Preserving your nursing relationship while transitioning back to working outside the home
  • Your breastfeeding goals and how best to meet them

The class will also allow for time for questions and addressing specific concerns that you may have.
