Neighborhood Cooking Tour of Roslindale and West Roxbury

Summer is here, and The Chefs’ Table Series TV show is continuing its fun and educational neighborhood cooking tour “road trip” by featuring the Top Eight Restaurants of the Parkway area - Roslindale and West Roxbury.  “We are extremely excited to have a variety of cuisines for people to learn about as well as taste and enjoy,” co-host and trained chef Joe Murphy of The Chefs’ Table Series explains.  “Summer is a great time to learn new cooking skills, chefs’ tips, and more about wines and food.

The Summer Cooking Tour begins July 7th and runs for eight weeks every Monday evening at 6:15 pm at the Sons of Italy, located at 30 Birch Street in Roslindale MA 02131.  The Top Eight of the Parkway includes:

July 7th: Birch Street Bistro: Sous Chef Joe Otero
July 14th: Thai Spice: Co-Owner/Manager Luckana Sriweawnetr
July 21st: Shanti: Owner Rokeya Chowdhury
July 28th: Seven Star St. Bistro: Chef/Owner Christopher Lin

August 4th: Masona Grill: Chef/Owner Manuel Sifnugel
August 11th: Delfino Restaurant: Executive Chef JoAnne LeBlanc
August 18th: Corrib Pub and Restaurant: Chef Phil Cotoni
August 25th: Himalayan Bistro: Ram Dhital

Birch Street Bistro will demo the restaurant’s signature dish: Grilled Salmon topped with pineapple salsa, two fried shrimp, Israeli cous cous with raisins and asparagus.  Guests will enjoy a tasting of the prepared meal, a glass of wine and a raffle will also be part of the festivities!

Menus will be announced on website.

Tickets are $35 per person, and must be purchased in advance.  Proceeds from the cooking shows will benefit the Chefs Table Foundation and the Roslindale Arts Alliance.  There are no food substitutions.  All guests must be in their seats by 6:15 pm.  All electronic devices must be turned off so not to interfere with the sound and filming of the show.  It is estimated that the taping of the cooking segment, enjoyment of wine and food will be 2 hours the most.  Tickets can be purchased by visiting: http://www.tablecritic.com/neighborhood-cooking-tour-of-the-parkway/

About the Chefs Table Foundation: mission statement is “service before self”.  The Foundation solicits financial support and runs events for the purpose of helping people in need. The focus is to help youths between the ages of 17-24 that may be homeless and unable to advance themselves through continuing their education. This group of young adults deserve the opportunity to rise above their personal situation and grow into productive and responsible people. The Foundation is inclusive to all individuals regardless of race, religious affiliation, cultural history or country of origin. The individual must be a U.S. citizen and have his/her primary residence in Massachusetts.
