Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston dedicated two new Habitat homes on Bradeen Street in Roslindale this past weekend.

On Saturday’s home dedications occurred at 65 and 65A Bradeen St., for Lucia Audate and her two children, Sahadia, 13, and Jimmy, 12; and Khatisia Goode and her two children, Raheem, 22, and Princess, 13. The six are now happily neighbors in new homes.

The two new homes are part of a summer 2011 donation from Fred and Rose Salvucci, who donated for the entire project on Bradeen Street in Roslindale (the land, architectural plans for six townhomes, and building permits) to Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston.

And the two families who moved in on Saturday have dealt with some tough times in life, and are very happy to be living in a safe and comfortable home.

Lucia moved to the United States from Haiti in 1995, and her husband died tragically in 2005. She works the night shift at Shattuck Hospital so she can be home during the day for her children, who both attend Pope John Paul II Academy in Dorchester. Lucia’s motivation to become a Habitat partner family came after the porch on her apartment collapsed while Jimmy was standing on it, according to a Habitat for Humanity press release.
