Three works of Gary E. Koeppel are being featured in Agora Gallery's 'The Manifestation of Milieu' exhibit in Chelsea.
Roslindale artist Gary E. Koeppel will have his work on display in The Manifestation of Milieu exhibition at the Agora Gallery in New York City Koeppel has three pieces in the exhibit -- click here to see all three. This is the second time Koeppel's work has been featured at the gallery. One of the best ways to celebrate Mother's Day is at the annual Lilac Sunday at the Arnold Arboretum. The Beauty of Moscow, President Lincoln, and Miss Ellen Willmot -- are just a few of the lilac plants that will be on display at the Arnold Arboretum during this weekend's annual Lilac Sunday. There are more than 380 lilac plants of 176 different kinds in the Arnold Arboretum’s collection, according to Arnold Arboretum's website. That includes 136 cultivars that were selected for certain horticultural features, such as flower size and color. Nearly 100 chefs will be cooking up a special benefit at Fenway Park on May 15 to benefit The One Fund.
The Fenway neighborhood will play host to a large-scale fundraising event for the One Fund next week, known as Boston Bites Back. Nearly 100 of Boston's top chefs will be coming together to present a special culinary tasting event at Fenway Park on May 15 in order to raise $1 million for The One Fund. The event is spearheaded by celeb chefs Ken Oringer and Ming Tsai, the Boston Red Sox, Governor Patrick, Mayor Menino, and ARAMARK. A TD Garden concert with proceeds benefitting the One Fund has sold out. Boston Strong, An Evening of Support & Celebration sold all of its tickets in five minutes, according to a tweet from the official TD Garden twitter account. "#BostonStrong shows their strength once again - 5/30 concert @tdgarden to benefit #TheOneFund sold out in 5 mins! THANK YOU for support!" Aerosmith will headline the show. Boston, Godsmack, J. Boston Conservatory students sing "I Wont Give Up" by Jason Mraz.
Following the Boston Marathon bombings on Monday, Boston Conservatory students came together to show their support for the community with one of their strongest tools: their voices. On Youtube, Boston Conservatory student Matt Ross wrote "Me and some of my friends from The Boston Conservatory Musical Theatre Department sing Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up" to share our love for this city. In spite of the terror and horror we've been a part of and seen this week, we are hopeful and proud of Boston. This is our home, our community. It's where we live, learn, and create. We "won't give up" and we're "still looking up."

Rozzie Reads Open Mic Night is on April 18, with Vin Dorio as the featured poet.
Calling all poets for the Rozzie Reads Poetry Open Mic session coming up with featured poet Vin Dorio. On April 18 at Select Cafe, with open mic sign-ups starting at 7 p.m., Roslindale's Peter Bates will emcee, starting at 7:45 p.m. Open mic participants have a three-minute maximum for reading. Featured poet, Dorio, will read poems from "Hammer", a book by carpenter Mark Turpin. Turpin, was one of a group of carpenters who gathered together at the James Gate Pub in Jamaica Plain, who challenged themselves to write poetry about their work.
