Roslindale Open Studios is on Saturday and Sunday with more than 100 artists participating this year! And it's all free!
Janice Williams is a founding member of Roslindale Open Studios, and she is alos the Event and Marketing Coordinator for Open Studios. She's also a pretty darn good artist. Williams answered some questions about this year's Roslindale Open Studios.
Patch: When is the roslindale open studios this year?
Williams: November 3 and 4, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Patch: How many artists are there?
Williams: 103 artists are participating
Patch: Where are the studios?
Williams: 40 locations in Roslindale - five group sites, nine businesses and 26 home studios
Patch: Do people need to buy tickets, get a map to get around? What's the best way to see Roslindale Open Studios?
Williams: No tickets needed - FREE - brochures are available around town or at groups sites, Adams Park and outside Village Market the day of event.
Patch: What's new this year for Open Studios?
Williams: The children's art exhibit at Roslindale Community Center on Saturday.
Patch: What do you like best about Roslindale Open Studios?
Williams: The number of home studios
Patch: What does the many raised go to?
Williams: This is not a fundraiser. The money we collect from artists for participation goes to marketing the event. Any revenue goes to the Roslinale Arts Alliance that sponsors the event.
