Fast Food Alley a.k.a. American Legion Highway in Roslindale - What's Your Fave?

Within less than half a mile there are seven fast-food options on American Legion Highway in Roslindale.

You've got plenty of options for fast-food on American Legion Highway in Roslindale.

Within less than half a mile you've got seven fast-food restaurants ready to serve you a donut, a hotdog, fried chicken, or a hamburger.

Do you prefer the golden arches versus Massachusetts-born Dunkin' Donuts? Or do you like a lady named Wendy, or go for a hotdog from Simco's?

Unlike in Roslindale Village, where chains are not welcome i.e. Domino's - several international food chains have spots on American Legion Highway. McDonalds, Dunkin' Donuts, Wendy's KFC and Popeyes, all share such close proximity that you can literally smell one after exiting another's door (with the right wind).

There is also Simco's, known for its hotdogs, and its hotdog neon sign above its storefront. A new entry to the scene is Loco Burrito.

So it begs the question. What is your favorite fast-food restaurant on American Legion Highway in Roslindale and why? Please take the poll, and leave comments below.

Five of them in one shopping center and three dollar stores. Our neighborhood could do better than this. There is also House of Pizza up the block in the other shopping center. To be honest, at our neighborhood meetings, we have addressed the issue of these business trying to stay open till two or three in the morning. We fight this everytime it comes up as we, the residents that surround the shopping centers and our quality of life is affected by these business. What is not mentioned is the trash that is left on our streets and sidewalks from these businesses and the smells that are emitted from their cooking. The trash becomes airborne and lands in our yards or the trees. Not many of us that live here even go to these places because they are far from being the best at their game.

Thank you for your comment, Florence. I'm sorry to hear about the trash, smells and other problems these businesses bring. Who do you think frequents the shops if it's not local residents? People driving home on their way to and from home to work?
