Bicyclist Bitten Bloody by Unleashed Dog in Arnold Arboretum

A bicyclist riding through the Arnold Arboretum was bitten by an unleashed dog, leaving the man bleeding from his left ankle.

Boston Police met at Bussey and Walter streets with the victim around 12:54 p.m. on Jan. 21, and observed the man's ankle was bleeding, according to a Boston Police report. The man said while riding through the Arnold Arboretum a medium-sized brown dog bit his ankle. He said the dog was not leashed.

The victim said the dog's owner said, "The dog just nipped you, it didn't break skin." The owner gave the victim her phone number and then both left the area, according to a Boston Police report. 

The victim declined medical attention, but he was advised to seek medical treatment at a local hospital. Boston Police left a message on the dog owner's voicemail for her to contact the police.
